Introduction

AIRBAG MAN®.... was established in January 1995 specialising in air suspension and the supply of air springs as actuators and vibration isolators. We are an Australian Owned business carrying a large and varied range of the core air spring product with capacities up to 40 tonnes available. Our experience within the company in using and specifying these products over many types of applications dates back to 1977. Air spring products are used in many industrial applications and in other areas such as mining equipment, railroads, light motor vehicles, heavy transport and with our development work, offroad caravans which is a world first as was the first Nissan GQ Patrol on full air suspension.
We have a diverse and specialised product range including our own developments some patented, and many applications are “World First “achievements.

We are distributors for:

  • Firestone Ride-Rite - Air suspension kits all of which are locally designed and manufactured including our range of On-Air® full air suspension systems.
  • Dunlop Systems & Components - Dunlop air springs and ECAS products (Electronically Controlled Air Suspension) including parts for Range Rover and Land Rover Discovery which we supply worldwide.
  • Driverite AMK - High quality compressors and IntelliRide® air suspension systems as sold to many large OEMs such as Mercedes, BMW, Renault etc.
  • Acceval - Compact lift axle valves used in heavy trucks and trailers
  • BASF Cellasto - Cellasto® microcellular polyurethane elastomers, are sold to the automotive industry mainly as suspension components ‒ jounce bumpers, top mounts and coil spring isolators.
  • Selson - Air Jacks incorporating airbags for actuation.

We are Queensland & NT distributors for Air Springs Supply relating to heavy transport and industrial air springs.

Context

Airbag Man deals with the specification, sale, distribution, marketing and export of air springs, air suspension systems and associated components. The core concept of Air Suspension for the light vehicle market has been tried and tested by Firestone USA since the 1940s and bringing the concept to Australia only requires minor design and manufacturing/procurement for mounting componentry, to suit local vehicle specifications. The heavy vehicle and industrial aftermarkets are covered by the above-mentioned product range Airbag Man has access to. In general, we do not carry out installations for the public but instead direct the public to our recommended dealer network.

The purpose of our Quality System is to ensure we provide our dealers and end-users with products and/or services that suit their requirements. Our ability to meet these requirements are affected by a variety of External Issues, namely:

  • Factors that impede the supply or affect cost of components,
  • Legislative changes that affect the use of our product,
  • Performance of our local and overseas suppliers,

As well as Internal Issues:

  • Managing Resources effectively,
  • Maintaining Web Hosting and Cyber security,
  • Monitoring the skills and wellbeing of staff,
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation/regulations.
